The People’s Park is a body of work commissioned by curator Valerie Connor for Golden Mountain, the 2013 TULCA Festival of Visual Arts. It explores the liminal landscape of Forest Park in Galway city, Ireland’s largest urban park. Rather than constructing a fixed narrative of place, the photographs follow its peripheries and the paths that connect them.

The work considers the park as a space between what once was and what might yet become. By inviting viewers to imagine its unrealised possibilities, it encourages a sense of investment in and shared ownership of The People’s Park.
